Not exactly the weekend we would like for the first one of April! As the snow started yesterday late in the afternoon, driving home from getting the cutest little pigs, I assured myself it wasn’t supposed to amount to much. But when I turned down the highway that leads to our road, it was white. It was snowing hard. It was a little depressing. We want to see green grass, see the birds back from their journeys, walk outside with no jackets. But what we have instead is a lesson in patience…and thankfulness. So, on this lazy “winter’s” afternoon, I will be grateful for yet another day of no weeding or planting or raking…because it will be upon us before we know it!
The little ones asked, in a slightly horrifying voice, if we were going to eat them. I tried to assure them that they really wouldn’t stay cute all that long. But I fear we may have problems yet when I overheard them talk of putting a halter on them to take them around the yard! I am sure they will lose interest!
Our strawberries are blanketed in white once again. And as thankful as I am trying to be cozied up to a fire, it will be oh so nice to see green in that field once again!
Happy Weekend! Enjoy it!
